Chase Street Historic Rehab

Full historic rehabilitation of a 1,340 SF story-and-a-half residence. The original 735 SF structure was built in the late 1800’s with a 605 SF story-and-a-half addition added in the 1950’s. Extensive structural repairs will be completed including a new concrete foundation with crawl space and new framing to reinforce the original. As part of the structural repairs, the roof will be raised to create a fully code-compliant true second story. Windows, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems will be upgraded for modern convenience, code compliance, and improved energy performance. To mitigate the wildfire risk in the area, the exterior of the home will be clad with a non-combustible fiber-cement siding mimicking the historic wood lap siding and be landscaped with a defensible space buffer around the structure. On the interior of the residence, the existing space was replanned to increase livability. New finishes will be installed throughout the two-story structure, including period-appropriate trim.
