Replacement and redesign of the existing deck at the historic Koenig Alumni Center on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The Alumni Center, frequented for year-round weddings and social events, upgraded the deck to include an operable trellis system that allows for full sun or rain/snow diversion, letting events continue comfortably during all types of weather events. A 3-season room was integrated into the design to expand seating options during the shoulder seasons, and automated sunshades were installed at the deck’s perimeter to provide guests additional protection from the elements.
