Rehabilitation of a late 19th century 1,500 SF home estimated to have been built in the 1880s. Re-planning of interior floor plan to improve livability and desirability as a home functioning in the 21st century. Exterior form and openings were modified to restore original roof forms, while reconstructing an enclosed porch. A studio space, partially built over the historic house, was restored creating a private retreat away from the main house. Much of the home’s wood framing was buried into the hillside and required extensive reinforcement of new framing and moisture mitigation to ensure the home will survive the next century.
