Chase Street Residence

Rehabilitation of a late 19th century 1,460 SF home estimated to have been built in 1890. Re-planning of the interior floor plan to improve livability and desirability as a home functioning in the 21st century. Non-historic portions of the house were modified at the homeowner’s discretion, while maintaining clear delineation of the non-historic forms and exterior finishes. A 24-inch historic stone masonry wall is featured within the kitchen, while also exposed to the exterior. Historic window openings discovered during the rehabilitation were recreated based on evidence within the wood framing.
